Wow! Talk about a disaster ready to happen! I'm surprised the local zoning bylaws would allow a dwelling in a 100 year floodplain. In Monson we have allowed building in the 500 year floodplain, but no houses in the 100 year. We did allow a golf driving range in 100 year, but the associated building was up on stilts to keep the first floor about the flood elevation (a zoning bylaw).
